FAQs
What is reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese healing modality centered around clearing out energy that no longer serves you from energy centers (chakras) in your body. The client lays on a massage table (fully clothed) while the practitioner lightly places their hands on ten different points on the body (the practitioner can also hover their hands if the client is uncomfortable with touch). The type of reiki that is practiced in the US has been westernized and has suffered the oppressive effects of capitalism and colonialism - traditional reiki is very different from westernized reiki. Are you a psychic/medium/etc?
The words “psychic” or “medium” (among others) can be used to describe my skills, though I do not identify with these labels (more on that later). While psychic/intuitive messages do come through in readings, it does depend on numerous different elements, which is why I rely on tarot cards during a session. This way, even if a message from The Other Side does not come through, you do not leave empty handed.
Is tarot the devil’s work?
Of course not! However, it is understandable why various religions started teaching this belief. When used for predictive purposes tarot can cause a lot of anxiety and panic - which is, more often than not, unwarranted. This panic ends up creating a lot of chaos and turmoil within the community, which explains why it would be seen as “devil’s work.” However, if you come to a reading with an open mind, and faith that the message that comes through is meant to help you grow into your most authentic self, you have nothing to fear.
What is “eso”?
“Eso” (pronounced like the letters “s” and “o”) is Greek meaning “within.” “Eso Cleric” can be read as “within (the) cleric” or “(the) cleric within,” as everyone is capable of connecting with their intuition and ancient wisdom - their own “cleric within.” It’s also a play on the word “esoteric.”
